how to solve kakuro – Probability that when rolling two dice that you will have a sum greater than 7 or an even sum?

Probability that when rolling two dice that you will have a sum greater than 7 or an even sum?

probability= favourable / total

total= 6 X 6= 36

probability of getting a sum greater than 7 = 15

(2,6) (4,4)
(3,6) (5,4)
(4,6) (6,4)
(5,6) (3,5)
(6,6) (4,5)
(6,5) (5,5)
(6,2) (6,3)
(5,3)

probability of getting an even sum = 18

(1,1) (3,1)
(5,1) (2,2)
(4,2) (6,2)
(1,3) (3,3)
(5,3) (2,4)
(4,4) (6,4)
(1,5) (3,5)
(5,5) (2,6)
(4,6) (6,6)

probabilities that they have in common = 9

probability of getting a sum greater than 7 or an even sum =

15 / 36 + 18 / 36 – 9 / 36 = 24 / 36 or 2 / 3

this is the answer. hope it helps.
